Fay Verell Campbell, age 97, passed away on Friday, September 13th 2024 in Biloxi, Mississippi.
She was born on August 29th, 1927 in Houston, MS to Mr. Eugene Graydon Verell and Mrs. Minnie Iota Houser Verell.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Morris Campbell; her parents; and her brother, Billy Verell.
She is survived by her daughter Dawn Canavit, and her husband Jerry; granddaughter, Heather Reetz; great grandchildren, Haley Reetz, Tyler Reetz, Kelsey Reetz and Dylan Reetz, all of San Antonio, Texas; and a special niece, Donna Houser of Tupelo, MS.
Fay worked for NASA in Huntsville, AL, before moving to Biloxi where she worked in civil service at Keesler Air Force Base. She and her husband Morris also owned Campbell’s Big Star Supermarket in Biloxi. She was a longtime member of Handsboro United Methodist Church, loved reading her bible and was a devoted Christian.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to several very special caregivers: Tara Catlin, Glen Johnson, Patrick Parker and all of the ladies at Bay Cove Assisted Living in Biloxi.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 18th 2024, with one hour visitation prior, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Rd. Biloxi, MS. Entombment will follow at Southern Memorial Park Mausoleum in Biloxi.
