F. Higgins

F. Leroy "Roy" Higgins, age 90, passed away on June 14, 2017 in Gulfport, MS. He was born in Walled Lake, MI to Thomas Higgins and Thelma Cote. He spent most of his life in Vestal, NY. He attended Albion College, the University of Michigan, and Syracuse University. He graduated from Syracuse University with a Master's degree in System Administration and Computer Science. He retired from IBM Engineering after working for over 25 years. Mr. Higgins also served in the Navy as a signalman during WWII. In his spare time Mr. Roy enjoyed camping, Ham Radio, and dancing.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Higgins; second wife, Millicent Favuzza Higgins; his parents; brother, Tom Higgins; and sister, Delores Higgins.
He is survived by his four children, Guy Higgins (Paula) of Fairhope, AL, Scott Higgins of Yonkers, NY, Sandra Keech (Robert) of Gulfport, MS, Shannon Hayes (Mike) of Vestal, NY; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Higgins (Pat) of Winterhaven, FL; five nieces and nephews.
A private graveside ceremony will be held at Vestal Hills Cemetery in Vestal New York. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Armed Forces Retirement Home, Gulfport, MS through Sandy Keech or you may donate to a charity of your choice.
