Everett Oliver "Butch" Cuevas, Jr., age 68, of Pass Christian, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020, in Gulfport, MS surrounded by his loved ones.
Mr. Cuevas is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Gay Cuevas and his father Everett Oliver Cuevas, Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Mae Peterson Cuevas; his two children, Everett “Lil Butch” Cuevas, III and Mandy Cuevas; his grandchildren, Lakyn Cuevas, Brady Cuevas, Landon Dedeaux, Isabella Cuevas and Lanae Dedeaux; 2 great grandsons, Lathan Necaise and Liam Ladner; his sisters, Kathy (Darcy) Cuevas, Gloria (Rex) Necaise; his brothers, Dana Cuevas and Anthony (Pamela) Cuevas; his nephews, Alan Necaise, Paul (Angie) Cuevas, Brad (Heidi) Necaise, Darin (Shannon) Cuevas, Joey (Colleen) Necaise, Craig (Candice) Cuevas, Josh (Krystle) Necaise, Destre (Kimberly) Ladner, and Kellin Cuevas; his nieces, Brittney (Cody) Parker and Karly Cuevas; numerous great nieces, great nephews, godchildren and his two favorite Aunts, Cathleen “Cat” Scarborough and Adaline Malley.
Mr. Cuevas was a devout Catholic and an active member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He loved to spend quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandsons. Growing up, he spent his time working with his grandfather on the Doris M. shrimp boat and at Martin’s Hardware in Pass Christian. Later in life he retired as a terminal manager at Stevedoring Services of America (SSA). He enjoyed going to the Pass Harbor and drinking coffee at C & J’s with friends. He also enjoyed antique car shows and watching his youngest granddaughter play sports.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020, from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9062 Kiln Delisle Rd. Pass Christian, with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at New Delisle Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
