Everett L. ""Butch"" Smith, Jr., of Biloxi passed away May 26, 2014 in Covington, LA. He put his faith and trust in the Lord at a young age and he loved his granddaughter Hallie Elizabeth Smith. He began his 32 year high school principal career at Alpena High School in Alpena, AR and retired as a principal in Berryville, AR. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Biloxi. He had a very strong passion for the game of golf.
He is preceded in death by his parents Everett Larkin Smith, Sr. and Ruth Robbie Vowell, 2 brothers, E.B. Smith, Jack Hale, sister, Wilma Harrington, and his first wife of 36 years: Bonnie Sullins Smith.
He is survived by his wife Maressa Johnson Smith of Biloxi, son, Michael Gregory Smith of Rogers, AR, granddaughter, Hallie Smith of Rogers, AR, brother, Ulys K. Smith (Yvonne) of Berryville, AR, step-daughter, Jolene Jashurek (John) of Gulfport, 3 step-grandchildren, Randi, Alyson, and R.J. Jashurek, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 30, 2014 at 10:00am at the First United Methodist Church of Biloxi. Another service will be held June 7, 2014 at 10:00am at the Alpena High School Gym in Alpena, AR.
