Mr. Everate Wardell Dedeaux, age 76, of Saucier, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at his home after a short illness.
Mr. Dedeaux was born in Harrison County to Lawrence and Lillis Saucier Dedeaux. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S. Pickaway during the Korean War and was very proud of his service to his country. Afterwards, he worked at Ingall's Shipyard and then for Entex Gas Company. He was also a farmer and a cattleman. His hobbies included deer hunting, watching football games, and horse racing. He loved to cook and entertain for his family and friends. He had a big heart and was ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, L.C. Dedeaux; and his sister and her husband, Ada and Perman Strickland.
He is survived by his children, Betty Dedeaux of Gulfport, Wanda Lizana (Melvin) of Gulfport, Laurie Kranz (Charlie) of Gulfport, Michael Dedeaux (Missy) of Long Beach, Matthew Dedeaux of Long Beach, and Melissa Dedeaux of Pass Christian; former wife and mother of his children, Alma Dedeaux of Long Beach; 9 grandchildren, Denise Lizana Love (Johnathan), Bridget Lizana, Alicia Kranz, Jeremy Kranz, Austin Dedeaux, Anna Dedeaux, Aaron Dedeaux, Ryan Dedeaux, Peyton Dedeaux; 2 great grandchildren, Johnathan and Dakota Love; his beloved dog, Blackjack; and numerous relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2011, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 3:00 p.m. Friends may visit one hour prior to services.
Burial will follow at Wolf River Cemetery.
The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice, especially Kelly Compton and Janet Ladner, and the oncology staff at VAMC Biloxi for their care and support during his illness.
