She was of the Cherokee and Irish descent and was a member of Chickamaugan Cherokee of the Wolf Clan. She was a Long House Mother of Badger Council and was of the Catholic faith.
Ms. Contreraz is survived by her brothers, George and Dennis; her children, Linda L. Contreraz of Gulfport, Debra A. (Contreraz) Lange of Diamondhead, Richard D. Contreraz of Irving, TX; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
