Eva Elizabeth Cooper Walker, 77, resident of Gulfport, died on Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula.
Mrs. Walker was the dietician at St. John High School for 14 years and worked in the Gulfport City Tax Office for approximately 19 years. She was also a member of St. John Catholic Church in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Finis and Sarah Cooper, and two brothers, James (Jim) Cooper and Leo Cooper; brother-in-law, James W. Riley.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Mr. Jerry E. Walker, Sr. of Gulfport; children, Jerry E. Walker, Jr. and wife Barbara, Brenda Walker Pleasant, James E. Walker and wife Terrie, and Janice M. Walker; brother, Finis Cooper, Jr. and wife Emelda; three sisters, Eleanor Seymore and husband Russell, Isabelle Riley, and Emelda Thrasher and husband Jim; ten grandchildren, Christy Mooney and husband Bill, Carolyn Moran and husband Pete, Elizabeth Ann Dodson and husband Don, Jerry E. (Buck) Walker, III and wife Trish, Gail Marie Johnson, Jason E. Walker, Jerry E. (Little Jerry) Walker, IV and wife Sherry, Shane Allen Walker and wife Rachel, Michelle A. Walker, and Bridgett Legg and husband Jeff; 22 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; special friends, Shirley and Carolyn Owen, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2006, at St. John Catholic Church in Gulfport where friends may visit from 12:30-2:30 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 2:30 p.m.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, 28th Street, Gulfport after services.
