Eva "Mary" Thompson, age 92, of Gulfport, passed away on April 5, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Newman Thompson; a son, Alfred Thompson; a grandson, Newman Ray Thompson; a daughter-in-law, Janet Thompson; her parents, Dessie and Recey Strahan; her brothers, Paul Strahan, Recey Strahan, Jr., Steve Strahan, Enoch Strahan, and Lamont Strahan; and a sister, Ruth Langley.
Survivors include her children, Rosemary Cox (Tom), Cynthia Grayson (Robert), Michael Thompson (Linda), Kenneth Thompson, and Aaron Thompson (Betty); a daughter-in-law, Susie Thompson; her siblings, Dessie Watson, Sally Martin, Don Strahan; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mrs. Thompson was a faith filled woman who enjoyed taking care of others, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, from 11 am - 12 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 12 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
