Eva Smith Ladner, age 97, of Gulfport, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Ladner was born in Pearl River County and was retired from the MacSmith Garment Factory. She was of the Baptist faith and her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family whom she loved more than anything.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Ladner; her parents, Pete and Marilla Smith; her sisters, Lillis James, Lula Smith, Viola Breland and Dena McQueen; 3 step children, Reggie Ladner, J.C. Ladner and Rita Ann Seals.
Survivors include her son, Monty Ladner; her sister, Loraine Stewart; one stepson, Gerald (Dorothy) Ladner; four grandchildren, Sheila (Jimmy) Stewart, Teresa Skellie, Jodi (Derek) Trosclair and Montez (Brent) Miguez; and Nancy Ladner; six great grandchildren, Alex Skellie, Taylor Skellie, Austin Ladner, Drew Anne Trosclair, Gunnar Trosclair and Lane Trosclair; 13 step-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Highway 49 in Gulfport where friends may visit from 1:00-3:00 P.M.
Interment will be in Steep Hollow Cemetery, South of Poplarville, MS.
