Eugene “Gene” Clement Jacobs, 88, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on February 18, 2025. Born on November 23, 1936, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Gene lived a life centered around his faith, family, hard work, and a fun-loving outlook on life.
Gene spent his career selling business equipment, sewing machines, and eventually owned his own store. After selling his store, he was the Sales Manager for Charter Cable in Brainerd, Minnesota, where he worked for many years before retiring.
He loved his years living at the lake in Minnesota, fishing, and boating. He taught his children and grandchildren the skills he loved. He enjoyed road trips to see the country, and also travelled internationally to see their children stationed abroad. Those memories with family were some of the most important of his life.
A member of the National Guard, Gene took pride in his service to his country, always showing up when needed with a sense of duty and responsibility.
Gene is survived by his best friend and wife of 67 years, Bonnie; children Howard and wife, Debra, Timothy and wife, Donna, and Julie and husband, Richard; his brother, Donald; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Laura Jacobs, and his brother, George Jacobs.
Gene will be remembered for his devout faith, fun loving attitude, his love of Hallmark movies, and the loyalty he had for the people around him. His legacy lives on in the family and friends who loved him.
A visitation will be held on February 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, 366 Cowan Road, Gulfport, MS, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
