Eugene Burrus, Jr.

Eugene Anthony Burrus, Jr., age 69, of Long Beach, passed away on April 13, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Burrus; mother, Ollie Cospelich; brother, Larry Cospelich; brother-in-law, Danny H. Ray; sister-in-law, Ann Ray; father and mother-in-law, Dan and Rita Ray.

Eugene is survived by his wife of 32 years, Laura Ray Burrus; his brothers, Sargent Burrus (Debbie), Doug Burrus (Jennie), Fred Dougherty, John Dougherty (Rachael) sister, Terileigh Grimes (Glenn); sister-in-law, DeeDee McCaffrey (Tim); brother-in-law, Pat Ray (Suzanne); Goddaughters, Haylee Brewer and Rylee McCaffrey, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eugene was a member of St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and he was retired from the family business, Dan Ray Construction Co.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Douglas Lanier and his staff for the loving care over the years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 16, 2021, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 E Beach Blvd, Long Beach, MS 39560. Interment will be in Long Beach City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church
