Etta Varnado, 96, a life-long resident of Saucier, passed away in her home surrounded by her family and friends on Saturday, October 6, 2012.
Etta was of the Baptist faith. She dedicated her life to raising her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, DC Varnado of Biloxi, Ethel Marie Ladner (Donvian) of Pass Christian, Leslie John Varnado (Robbie) of Saucier, Mary Liz Moran (Russell) of Lizana and Gladys Lee (Leroy) of Perkinston. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren, many loved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband LC Varnado, parents Levi and Mary Dye, son Harold Varnado, daughter Delphine Varnado and grandchildren Susie Homan and Jeff Ladner.
Etta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by many.
Visitation will be today, Monday, October 8 from 1:00 until the Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m., at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport. Burial will follow at Dye Cemetery in Saucier.
