Ethel Mae Melton

Ethel Trippe Melton, 94, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in Gulfport. She was a loving, dedicated mother and grandmother. She was the happiest cooking Sunday spaghetti dinners surrounded by her large family filling her kitchen with love and laughter. She went to school at St. Francis de Sales, class of 1938. She worked at Memorial Hospital and Rhodes Furniture. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and crochet. Mrs. Ethel was a lifelong catholic being involved at St. John and St. Joseph parishes, she volunteered with the Ladies Guild of St. Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Melton; son, Carlton K. Melton; parents, Joseph Trippe and Eliska Fayard Trippe.
She is survived by her 4 sons, Michael Melton (Cheryl), Jeffrey Melton (Terri), Steve Melton and Tommy Melton (Donna); 6 Grandchildren, Julie Umbdenstock, Rocky Melton, Courtney Ross, Christopher Melton, Branden Melton and CJ Melton.
A mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gulfport. Burial will follow the service at Floral Hills Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.
