Estus A. "Buddy" Triggs, 88 of Gulfport, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021.
Buddy was a native of Glendale where he attended Eatonville High School. He went on to join the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 35 years of service. While watching basketball was his main hobby, Buddy spent much of his time as an active member of the Bayou View Baptist Church - for more than 50 years, where he served on many church committees.
Buddy was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Shirley L. Triggs; his parents, Carrie & James E. Triggs; his sisters, Helen VanDevender Miller, Emma Lou Landrum, and Annie Jean Gray; brothers, James L. Triggs and Carroll M. Triggs.
Buddy is survived by his children George (Sheila) Triggs, Cindy (Steve) Nobles, David (Joni) Triggs, and Lisa (Robert) Bozek; his grandchildren Geoffrey (Amber) Triggs, Michael (Catie) Triggs, Emily Nobles, Steven (Savannah) Nobles, Ashley (Chuck) Whitehead, Joshua Hughes, Carrie Heron, and Rachael Bozek; and his ten great grandchildren Blair, Casey, Steven, Bentley, Beau, Rhett, Zander, Chloe, Ryker, and Ellie.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Bayou View Baptist Church Building Fund, 4709 Chamberlain Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39507.
Visitation and services will be held Thursday, April 1st at Bayou View Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Mr. Triggs will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Biloxi National Cemetery.
