The Lord called Mama home on April 29, 2010. She is celebrating now, in His presence, after a long, courageous battle with COPD & cancer.
Mama was a good and faithful servant who fought the good fight and always gave others the answer for the hope that was within her. A fearless witness for the Lord, she led many to come to know the freedom in His salvation.
Known by family as Teenie & friends as Tina, Mama was gifted in art & writing, but her greatest joy was using the beautiful voice God gave her to sing His praises. Mama was the most kind, loving and generous person who touched the hearts of so many. We will miss her greatly but rejoice in knowing that we will see her again in Glory.
Mama is preceded in death by our daddy, Billie Ray Herndon, Sr.; father, Earnest John Wade, mother, Lillian Coker Ronney; step-father, Harry Ronney; her precious grandparents, Joseph Daniel and Mary Elizabeth Welch Wade, Rev. Seth Velton and Clara Doggett Coker.
She leaves to cherish her life, her children; Cheryl (Doug) Saucier, Billie Ray (Joanna) Herndon, Jr., Dawn Herndon (Larry Casteel), Kim (Dwight) Busby; son-in-law, Kevin Ladner; and youngest daughter, Lisa (Steve) Solmon, her sisters, Ima Jean Roney and Earline Knight; brothers-in-law, Mack (Jo) Herndon and Coleman (Helen) Herndon; grandchildren, Amy (Andy) Snyder, Joshua (Marie) Saucier, Kristie (Stevie) Sharp, Laura (Adrian) Martinez, Jessica (Jeffrey) Hight, Daniel Herndon, Madison Herndon, Ashley Hicks, Kortland Hicks, Joseph Hicks, Amber Nelson, Nicole (David) Alford, Steven (Jennifer) Ladner, Erica (Matt) Bounds, Alicia Ladner (Chris Miller), Danielle Ladner (Rod Davenport), Dakota Solmon; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.
Pallbearers are: Steven Ladner, Joshua Saucier, Andy Snyder, Dustin Snyder, Matt Bounds, and Rod Davenport.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Wolf River Cemetery.
