Ernest Stanley Cowart II

Ernest Stanley Cowart II, 86, of Saucier, died November 4, 2011 in Wiggins.
Mr. Cowart was born February 18, 1925 in Gulfport. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served his country as a first class seaman in WWII. Upon returning, he served on the Gulfport Police Department, until he founded Cowart Plumbing in 1962. He retired in 1999. Mr. Cowart was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in D'Iberville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Stanley Cowart Sr; mother, Ruby Leola Crawford Cowart; daughter, Darlene Alverez; brothers, Norman Cowart, Floyd Cowart, J.Y. Cowart and Troy Cowart; and sister, Linda Odom.
Survivors include his 7 children, Marita Kay Winters of Tupelo, Barbra Ann Horner of Sacramento, CA, Teri Lynn Seymour of Biloxi, Deborah Jean Cowart of Medesto, CA, Michael Dwayne Cowart of Gulfport, Ernest Stanley Cowart III of Gulfport and Joseph Anthony Cowart and wife Stephanie of Gulfport; 3 sisters, Leola Green, Vivian Thibault and Lezett Nunmaker, all of Gulfport; 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm, Tuesday, November 8, with the Funeral Service at 1pm, all at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Highway 49 North in Gulfport. Burial will follow at Finley Cemetery. Tributes may be offered at www.riemannfamily.com.
