Mr. Ernest E. Brant, age 80, resident of Biloxi, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010, in Biloxi.
Mr. Brant was born in Port Orchard, WA on December 19, 1929, to Lloyd and Jenny Sutherland Brant. He graduated from North Kitsap High School. After graduation, Mr. Brant joined the U.S. Army, where he served in Korea and Vietnam before retiring after 24 years of service. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Biloxi and was Past State Commander for the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rose Maranville.
He is survived by his wife, Shirlee Brant of Biloxi; five children, Mitchell Curtis and his wife Kim of Springfield, IL, Jeanette Miller and her husband Rick of Dwight, IL, Stephen Brant of Channahon, IL, Anne Galloway and her husband Jack of Anchorage, AK, and Brenda Thompson of Panama City Beach, FL; sister, Lola Anson of Bremerton, WA; grandchildren, Gabriel, James, Joseph, Joshua, Ami Jo, Christine, Ashley, and Sarah Morgan; great grandchildren: Andrew Steffan, and Celia, Samuel and Dalien Collofellow; and special friends, Coleen Tucker, Patrick Burke, Jack Heller, and Ken Meadows.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, where friends may visit from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at 9 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with burial following at Biloxi National Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
