Erline Bradley Carter, age 91, a long time resident of Pearlington, MS, passed away August 30, 2010 at her home in Picayune, MS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lofton A. Carter; her parents, Dan and Varina Bradley; her sister, Christian Sheridan of Bogalusa, LA., and brother, Vernon Bradley of Bastrop, LA.
She is the beloved mother of one daughter, Betty Baxter (Robert); beloved grandmother of Melissa Burge and Abby McGuire of Kiln, MS., great grandmother of seven great-grandchildren, Daniel McGuire, Robin Anderson, Lynsey McGuire, Nathan McGuire, Nikol Necaise, Eugene Hornke, Alisa Hornke and fifteen great-great-grandchildren; devoted sister of Katherine Adams of Bogalusa, LA and devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews.
She retired from the Hancock County School System with twenty-one years of service.
She was a faithful member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Pearlington and took great pleasure in serving on the flower committee for many years. Flowers were her passion and she enjoyed spending many hours in her yard and making many beautiful flower arrangements for the church.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the First Southern Baptist Church, 5487 Hwy. 604, Pearlington, MS. A visitation will be at the church two hours prior to service time. Burial will follow at the Logtown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to First Southern Baptist Church Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 146, Pearlington, MS.39572 or to the Logtown Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 40, Pearlington, MS 39572.
