Enos D. Ritchie, CPO, US Navy Ret., age 82, of Gulfport, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2009, in Gulfport.
Mr. Ritchie was retired from the US Navy after serving in WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War. He was a recipient of the National Defense Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal (5th Award) United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation (Korea). He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Gulfport and retired from Stennis Space Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Angeline Ritchie; his first wife, Wanda Ritchie; 4 brothers LeonardRitchie, B. Willard, Ritchie, Everett Ritchie, Stanly Ritchie; 3 sisters, Nettie Watkins, Mabel Cornett, Mellissa Ritchie; and a son-in-law, Abraham Combs.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bonnie McKinney Ritchie, of Gulfport; children, Cheryl Combs, of Fisty, KY, Gerald Wayne Ritchie (Patricia), of Gulfport, Pamela Sue Gray (Bob), of Gettysburg, PA, and Deborah Pittman (Russell) of Bogalusa, LA; sisters, Madge Ashley (Paul), of Fisty, KY, and Katherine Sparks, of MI; eleven grandchildren, Denise Slone, Jeffrey Walker, Amber Combs, Kira Ryan, Meghan Pittman, Cameron Pittman, Chanda Gray, Jonathan Gray, Joshua Gray, Ryan Gray, Heather Ritchie; and seven great-grandchildren, Janish Slone, Jessica Slone, Terri Slone, William Ryan, Aidan Ryan, Makalah Ritchie, and Katelyn Walker.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd. Gulfport. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 Noon in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be Monday, August 10, 2009, at 9:00 AM at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
