Enid Kathleen Alexander, age 70, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020 in Gulfport after a courageous battle with cancer.
Enid was a native of Long Beach and graduate from Long Beach High in 1967. She worked as a Seamstress most of her adult life. She especially loved her time at Seeman Composites and talked often of her friends there. She worked as sewing machine operator for 12 years until her retirement in 2018. She selflessly dedicated her time in retirement to serving as primary caregiver of her mother, Gladys. Enid spent her free time supporting the children of the family at their sporting events and recitals. She was always in the crowd, keeping score, cheering for the team, and with flowers in her hand when they came off stage. That is where her presence will be missed, but also felt, the most.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Memorial Hospital. A special thank you goes to Pam of St. Joseph Hospice for the wonderful way she took care of our loved ones through this time.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ellis Warren Alexander and a infant brother.
She is survived by her mother, Gladys Parker Alexander; sister, Wanda Gunter (Ricky); nephew, Justin Gunter (Kristyn); niece, Lindsay Gunter; great nephews, Warren Gunter and Sawyer Smart; great niece; Ellie Gunter.
Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic a private family graveside will be held. A live streaming can be viewed at 11:00AM on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 on www.riemannfamily.com
A breast cancer survivor, Enid always supported the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In lieu of flowers, she requested that donations be made to the foundation to continue research and patient support.
