Emma Marie Fleming

d. April 12, 2012

Emma Marie Fleming ""Granny"", was called home to be with the Lord on the evening of April 12, 2012, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in West Blockton, Alabama, and the youngest of twelve children. She was a strong, Christian woman who lived all her days with grace and strength from her Savior, Jesus Christ. As a member of Temple Baptist Church for 35 years, and a current member of Bible Baptist Church, she sought for the world to know the love and peace which she experienced daily. Although her faith was strong, she could not help but worry for her children and grandchildren. Hours were spent in prayer, petitioning the Lord for the safety and health of her family and loved ones. She loved to read God's Word and listen to hymns and gospel music. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, and cooking with her diet coke nearby, always eager to provide a warm meal or a sweet treat. She wanted everyone to be well fed and happy, as she always put others before herself. Through her pain and discomforts she always kept a smile and said that God was her ""physician."" It is with heavy but peaceful hearts that we send our Granny off to her celestial home. We rest in the assurance and knowledge that she is in eternal peace and resting forever with our Lord.
Mrs. Fleming is preceded in death by her parents, John and Meedie Hicks and a grandson, Steven Fleming.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Bobby Fleming of Gulfport; her children, Linda (David) Bourque of Alvin, TX, Benjamin (Belinda) Fleming of Atlanta, GA, Gary (Karen) Fleming of Houston, TX and Tina (Dan) McGrew of Gulfport; her grandchildren, Ashley Jones, David Bourque Jr., Benjamin Fleming Jr., Scott Fleming, Brad Fleming, Daniel Fleming, Danielle McGrew, and Allison McGrew her great-grandchildren, Taylor and Parker Bourque, Skyler Bowen, Lindsey Jones, Esther Fleming, Colt Fleming, Payton Fleming, Lila Fleming, and Jonah Fleming.
