Emile J. Vial, Jr., 73 of Pass Christian, MS died Monday, March 27, 2006 in Gulfport.
Mr. Vial was a native of New Orleans and lived on the coast since 1977. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post #83, Lockport, LA. He retired from Bell South after 37 years and 10 months of service. Mr. Vial was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (now Holy Family Parish), Knights of Columbus Council 4420 where he was a 4th Degree and served as Past Grand Knight in Metairie and Picayune. He served as a Troop Leader for Boy Scouts #262, Metairie, LA and he enjoyed fishing, camping, and just piddeling with anyand everything.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emile J. Vial, Sr; and a sister, Joan Travirca. Survivors include his wife, Patricia """"Annie"""" Vial, Pass Christian; his mother, Iola Vial, Jacksonville, FL; 3 children: Pamela Viator, New Orleans, Denise McQueen, Pass Christian, and Christopher (Pandora) Vial, Bay St. Louis; 1 sister, Anniese Mourain, Pearl River, LA; 5 grandchildren: Michael Draughon, Leah Viator, Andrea Viator, HannahVial, and Amanda Toops; 2 great-grandchildren: Austin Draughon and Kelsey Lynn Draughon.
The visitation will be Thursday, March 30, 2006 from 11:30 - 1:30 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Menge Ave, Pass Christian. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 pm at the church.
Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, American Lung Society, or the American Heart Association.
