Emile Joseph """"Slim"""" Schmidt, age 86, of Pass Christian, died Sunday, November 2, 2008 in Pass Christian.
Mr. Schmidt was a native and lifelong resident of Pass Christian and was self-emplyed as a commercial fisherman. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Cox Schmidt; and his siblings: Henry Schmidt, Rita McClentoc, and Ann Smith.
Survivors include his son, Earl J. Cox and his daughter Patricia Delores Kelly; 4 grandchildren: Danny Kelly, Rhonda Cobb, Jennifer Peeples, and Kathy Gill; 2 nieces: Jackie Lizana and Margaret Wise; and numerous other family members and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, November 6, 2008 at Holy Family Parish, Menge Ave., Pass Christian. Visitation will be from 10 - 11 am.
Entombment will be at Live Oak Cemetery.
