Mr. Elvin Dykes, age 72, resident of Saucier, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2011.
Mr. Dykes was born in Franklinton, LA to Curtis James Dykes and Ershley Cowart Dykes Odom. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Navy and was a retired electrician from the Philips Plant. He and and wife lived in numerous places throughout the country and settled here on the Coast in 1976.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eddie Dykes; and sister, Betty Ferrill.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years (on June 28, 2011), Nola Kay Dykes; children, Triena Hickman (Wayne), Kelva Ferguson, and Jeanne Collins, all of Saucier; grandchildren, Robbie Barnett, Corey Barnett, Josh Collins, Jacob Collins, Cierra Collins, and Selena Hickman, all of Saucier; great grandchildren, Collin Crombar, Kelsie Barnett, and Hailey Collins, all of Saucier; and his brothers, Ernie Dykes of AZ, Curtis and Bobby Dykes, and Vernon Odom, all of Gulfport.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 1:30 p.m.
Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
