Elvetta Smith

Elvetta Stewart Smith, age 72, a long-time resident of Gulfport, passed away last Friday on June 8th at approximately 1 p.m.
She was born in 1935 in Lawrence County, Mississippi. Upon the death of her husband, James Herbert Smith in 1975, she moved to the Gulf Coast area to be near her family. She always wanted to be near her family in Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Webster Smith; mother, Ruby Stephens Cuevas; sisters, Nora Mae Smith, Mary Katherine Todd, and Sara Alice Stewart; brothers, Robert Jessie Stewart and Edward Stewart.
Surviving her are sons, Roger Norman Smith (daughter-in-law, Diana Dee Smith), Daniel Maurice Smith (daughter-in-law, Michelle Faeyon Smith), Herbert Gregory Smith (daughter-in-law, Sabrina Wilson Smith), and Christopher Stewart Smith; as well as grandchildren, Herbert Gregory Smith, Jr., Daniel Ray Smith, Darien James Smith, Michelle Ament Bain, Cassandra Lynn Smith, and Chante Nikkole Smith.
Surviving sisters and spouses are Lou Moran (husband, Huey Moran), Genny Todd (husband, Bobby Todd), Hazel Smith (husband, Wiley Smith), and Betty Overby (husband, Wayne Overby).
Friends are invited to join the Smith family for visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at THE RIEMANN FAMILY'S Gulf Coast Funeral Home, Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be in the chapel at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2007. Interment will follow at Finley Cemetery.
