Elton Seymour Sperier, age 86, of Long Beach, passed away on October 25, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mr. Sperier was born in Pear Ridge, Texas on September 18, 1922.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Camille Marie Dubuisson Sperier and Seymour Alcede Sperier; and a sister, Gloria Ann.
Mr. Sperier is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lee Sperier, of Long Beach; his children, Donna Jones 'MS DONNA' and her husband, James, of Long Beach, and their children, Jason Jones, Blain Jones, and Brandon Jones; Phyllis Morgan of Long Beach and her children, Michael Gentile, Megan Gentile, Jacob Morgan, and Ethan Morgan; Lynn Cross and her husband, Tim, of Long Beach, and their children, Justin Jones, Katelyn Jones, Ashlee Smith; Glinda Jones and her husband, Cruise, of Houston, TX and their children, Alex Jones, Adam Jones, and Lauren Jones; and Laura Rester and her husband, Robert, of Vancleave, and their children, Ryan Rester, Erin Rester, and Caiden Rester; and his great grandchildren, Kamryn Leigh Jones, Halle and Hannah Jones, and Braden Smith. We cannot forget his faithful companion 'Boudreaux', his mix dachshund and wire haired terrier that he 'dearly' loved.
Elton served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II. He retired from the Gulfport Naval Construction Batallion after 36 years of faithful service where he served as general equipment inspector in receiving inspection and delivery, traffic branch.
Mr. Sperier was a devout Catholic with unwavering faith in Almighty God and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
He was a gentle, loving, quiet man who will be sadly missed. The light he shared with all of us will guide us as we continue our earthly journey towards our heavenly home to one day join him.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Noon at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Pass Christian, where friends may visit from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
