Elsie A. Mevius, age 88, of Pass Christian, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011.
Ms. Mevius was a native of New Orleans and had been a long-time resident of Pass Christian. She formerly worked at both the Mac Smith Garment Factory in Gulfport and at Pass Christian Industries. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Mevius; mother, Bertha Louise Mevius; brother, William Mevius; and sister, Ethel Mevius. Survivors include her daughter, Linda LeBeau (Ernie LeBeau); granddaughter, Stacey Meyer (Shawn Meyer); grandson, Michael LeBeau (Kathy LeBeau); and four great-grandchildren, Taylor LeBeau, Hailey LeBeau, Lindsey Meyer and Luke Meyer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Pass Christian, where friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
