Elsie B. Byrnes, age 82, of New Orleans, passed away on January 9, 2011, in Lacombe, LA.
She loved baking, sewing, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Byrnes, Jr.; her parents, Nicholas and Viola Bates; and her granddaughter, Tina Marie Matherne.
She is survived by her children, Bill Byrnes and his wife, Debbie, of Slidell, LA, Steve Byrnes and his wife, Debbie, of Chalmette, LA, and Sue Matherne and her husband, Lou, of Kiln, MS; her sister, Rita Blakeman of Harahan, LA; five grandchildren, Bill Byrnes IV, Stevie Byrnes, Jennifer Carson, Louis Matherne IV, and Melissa Matherne; and 6 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at Lakelawn Metairie Funeral Home, Metairie, LA, at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service.
Burial will follow at Lakelawn Metairie Cemetery.
