Elnore P. Ralston, 96 years old, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2009.
She was a resident at the Lakeview Nursing Center in Gulfport for the past 6 1/2 years. She was very happy at Lakeview and the family would like to thank all of the employees over the past 6 1/2 years that helped her to enjoy her final years.
Elnore and her twin sister were born October 2, 1912 in Honey Creek, Indiana and moved to Yorba Linda, CA where they grew up and went through school. They went through school with President Richard M. Nixon, who was their next door neighbor.
Elnore and her husband, Charles S. Ralston, were married 57 years. He preceded her in death, in 1989. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Arthur and Cecil Pickering; her brother, Chauncey Pickering; and her sister, Elizabeth Pickering.
Elnore was a farmeraÌ‚â‚â„¢s wife who loved to be outdoors, traveling and playing bingo. She especially enjoyed the Gulfport Elks Bingo games.
She will be deeply missed by her twin sister, Carolyn Jones of Vista, CA; her 3 children, son, Glen Ralston and wife, Clara Dawn of St. Albans, WV, daughter, Carolyn Louise Mieger and husband, Donald of Biloxi, and son, Carl Ralston and wife, Patti of Bainbridge, GA; her 5 grandchildren, Diana Grand and husband, Tommy of Ocean Springs, Debra Halverson of Brookhaven, Donald Mieger, Jr. and wife Angelia of Picayune, Arthur Ralston and wife, Kathy of Fulton, KY, and Christine Singleton and husband, Mark of Oak Ridge, TN; her 5 great-grandchildren, Megan Singleton and Stephanie Singleton, both of Oak Ridge, TN, Wesley Ralston and wife, Angela of Lansing, KY, and Arielle Mieger and Andrew Mieger, both of Picayune; her 3 great-great-grandchildren, Jacob Ralston, Emily Ralston and Colton Ralston, all of Lansing, KY; and a nephew, Fred Jones of Vista, CA.
