Ellis E. McKay, Jr., age 79, of Gulfport, passed away on March 7, 2020.
He was preceded in death by wife, Rose Marie Ladner McKay; a son, Ronald Edward McKay; a grandson, Jonathon Riley; 2 step-daughters, Rhonda Mooney and Vickie Sue Mooney; and his parents, Ellis E. McKay, Sr and Gladys Necaise McKay.
He is survived by his children, Robert Mooney, Lee Mooney, Sybil Benefield, Gerald Mooney, William McKay, and Brad Mooney; 2 sisters, Sandra Ladner and Karen McManus; 2 brothers, Larry McKay and Bernie McKay; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Mr. McKay retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 35 years of employment as a shipfitter. He enjoyed fishing, skiing, boating, and camping.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 12, 2020, from 1 – 2 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Road, Pass Christian. The funeral Service will be at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
