Ellen Simmons

Ellen Venita Simmons, age 63, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, on Sunday, August 8, 2021.

Ellen was a graduate of D’Iberville High School.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville, and if you ever had the jambalaya at the annual bazaar, then you know she made one of the best ever. She loved cooking for others, going to the casinos, and spending time with her family and friends.  She was a very giving person who worried more about others than she did herself.  If you ever needed help and asked, she would be there. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her father, Anthony Anselmo; mother, Molla Williams; sister, Leonora Anselmo Eike; brother, Emile Anselmo; and her in-laws, Henry Warren and Hattie Louise Simmons.

Ellen is survived by her loving husband of over 33 years, Curtis Simmons; her sons, David Obert and Duane Brown; her daughter, Leonora Raven Grace Brown; her siblings, A.L. Anselmo (Rosalyn), Samuel Anselmo, Mike Anselmo, Gladys Alimoni (David), and Toni Anselmo Allen (John); and her grandchildren whom she adored, Christopher Desselles, Kalea Williams and Lillian Burdine; numerous in laws, relatives and dear friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until the 6:00 p.m. funeral service at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. in West Jackson County.
