Elizabeth Bowen Lewis died January 22, 2010, at Westminster Village in Spanish Fort, Alabama.
She was born in Gulfport, Mississippi, on December 16, 1919, she was a graduate of Gulfport High School, Gulf Park College and Newcomb College. She had long been a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her parents, Brannon Curry Bowen and Georgie Gause Bowen; and by her husband, Richard Frederick Lewis; as well as a sister, Katherine Bowen Fant; and brother, Minor Lee Bowen.
She is survived by her son, Richard Lewis of Richmond, Virginia; granddaughter, Claire Lewis of Lexington, Virginia; and grandson, Stuart Lewis of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 1pm-2pm at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd,, Gulfport, with a graveside service to follow at 2:30pm at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to Covenant Hospice, 1040 Stanton Road, Suite D, Daphne, AL 36526.
