Elizabeth Brown

July 30, 1960 — June 17, 2019

Elizabeth Grace Cunningham Brown was born July 30, 1960 in Gulfport MS. A fighter from the start, she weighed in at 2 lbs. 6 oz. That fight came to an unexpected end on June 17, 2019.
As a child, Liz attended Pineville school until the eighth grade at which time she moved to Harrison Central where she finished high school.
Being the beautiful, charismatic young woman that she was, Liz was named Ms. Harrison Central, Homecoming Queen, and Most Beautiful.
After high school, she completed several courses at USM. She went on to be named Gulf Coast Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo Queen which was especially appropriate given her love for fishing ... as long as you didn't catch more than her that is!
On July 14th 1984, Liz gave Tom Brown her hand in marriage. Here began 35 years of love and adventure. A life of fishing, hunting, gardening, and hiking. She loved the outdoors.
She followed Tom through 8 moves. From mountains and rivers, to creeks, islands, and open oceans. Not a day went by without an I love you.
From her grandparents, Liz learned to cook, sew, and had the ability to make something out of nothing. She had an uncanny ability to create beautiful things, and a creator she was. She was incredibly gifted in painting sewing, and interior decorating. Every pillow and curtain that graced their home was handmade by her. She even worked in interior decorating for several offices and buildings at our local college, MGCCC. However, I think that she would agree, her two most prized creations in life where her children. Although doctors told her it was unlikely that she would conceive, she bore 2 beautiful children, Bethany Brown Perkins in 1987, and Caleb William Brown in 1994. This is when she found her purpose in life. Her kids.
For her husband and children she created a beautiful, warm, and loving home. Many know her as "Ms. Liz", because it was also the home that all of the kids wanted to hang out at. And she loved it that way.
Whether you knew her as Elizabeth, Liz, Lizzy, Mom, Ms. Liz, or "the Lizard", she held a special place in each of our lives and hearts. We are all incredibly blessed to have known this warm, kind, bubbly, humble, self- sacrificing woman, who was just as beautiful on the inside as she was out.
She was preceded in death by Roy and Edna Cunningham, Jimmy Cunningham, and Louis Frierson.
She leaves behind a mother Sylvia Frierson; two sisters, Marylin Cunningham and Kimberly Harriel; her husband, Tom; her children, Bethany and Caleb; and son-in-law, Jeremy Perkins. She has left us all with lasting memories that we will always hold close and dear. We will all look forward to the day that we can hug you again, hold you again, and laugh with you again. Until then, LYT and every other.
