Elise “Sissy” Cheairs Meadows of Long Beach, age 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 19, 2024. She passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side.
Mrs. Meadows was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Joy Cheairs and Elise McDaniel Cheairs, along with her seven siblings and Robert “Bob” Johnson Meadows, her loving husband of 59 years.
Mrs. Meadows is survived by her daughters, Joye Elise Pierce of Long Beach,MS and Linda Kaye Frewin of Gulfport, MS; grandchildren, Jacquelyne Elise Pierce and Christian Craig, both of Long Beach, MS; and one greatgrandchild, Gavin Craig of Gulfport, MS.
Referred to as ‘Sissy’ or ‘The Queen’ by those closest to her, she was a native of Dublin, MS. Miss Sissy was a true Southern Belle. Sissy had the best jobs in the world as wife, mother and homemaker. She was devoted to her family and a great friend to many. She loved reading, cooking and especially working in her yard just like her mother. Sissy volunteered at the Long Beach Food Pantry for over 15 years. Sissy was a faithful member of the First Methodist Church where she was a member of the Son Shiners Sunday School Class.

A private service was held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the Long Beach City Cemetery.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, is serving the family.
