Mrs. Elenora Hemmerling Baudier, of Gulfport, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011, three days before her 91st birthday, and two days after her son-in-law passed away, James D. Smith.
Mrs. Baudier was born in New Orleans to Michael and Carrie Rubson Hemmerling. She and her late husband of 68 years, Stephen P. Baudier, Jr. owned and operated S.P. Baudier's Furniture and Upholstery for 60 years, where the family name was passed down to their granddaughter's business. She and her husband shared a special marriage filled with love and devotion. She never met a stranger and was a very talented seamstress. She carried pictures of the furniture that they restored and her family with her at all times, and she enjoyed sharing them with friends. She loved playing with her monthly Bunco group. Her New Orleans family was very important to her, and she loved getting together with them and playing cards, cooking, and sharing Mother's Day Weekend with them. Mrs. Baudier was known for her love of talking on the phone, and she was very proud of her family. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren more than anything and was their number one fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; 2 sons, Stephen P. Baudier, III, and Robert F. Baudier; son-in-law, James D. Smith; and her 6 sisters and 2 brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Baudier Smith of Gulfport; her special sons, Lonnie Moore of LA and Don Berkowicz of LA; grandchildren, Debra A. Price (Mike) of Biloxi, Stephen ""Chuckie"" Baudier of Gulfport, Melinda A.
