Eleanor Griffis

Eleanor Nagy Griffis, age 93, of Long Beach, MS, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2022.

She was born at her family’s home in Paulsboro, NJ, on June 5, 1928. She lived 50 years in NJ before moving to South Mississippi in 1978. It was here in Long Beach she would spend the last 43 years of her life being a dedicated wife, mom, and nana.

Eleanor is predeceased by her husband, William A. Griffis, Jr.; her mother, Esther Nagy; her father, Louis Nagy, Sr.; her brother, Louis Nagy, Jr.; her sister, Irene Nagy Brown; and her Beloved Twin Sister, Helen Nagy.

She is survived by her dearly beloved daughter, Judith Ann Bermudez and “favorite” son-in-law, Frankie Bermudez; her grandson, William Paul Bermudez, who was “her heart and a joy and blessing to her”, all of Long Beach; her 2 special bonus grandsons, Devin Bermudez of CA and Anthony Bermudez of AZ; and several nieces and nephews.

Eleanor loved her family and friends and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. She also loved being outside tending to her yard and gardening.

Eleanor’s family would like to thank the doctors who cared for her over the years and the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice for the care and comfort they gave to her during the last year of her life.

Graveside services will be held privately at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.
