Elaine Elizabeth Lizana, age 84, of the White Cypress community in Kiln, entered into eternal rest on April 2, 2024.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Joseph Lizana; parents, Purvis and Verina Deschamp; and her sister, Vivian Jones.
She is survived by her children, Daniel Howard Lizana (Anna), Desiree Ann Lizana, and Dennis Preston Lizana. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses, Earline Hoda, Lillian Pierocich, Lynell Hoda, Patsy Saucier, Curtis Deschamp (Rebecca), Lonnie Deschamp (Cheryl), Judy Saucier, Marian Deschamp, Wade Deschamp (Diane), and Belinda Liles (Richard); her grandchildren, Marissa Ladner (Brandon), Kyle Lizana (Rachel), Rheanne Clinton (Steven), Tyler Lizana (Margurite), Skyler Lizana, and Tayler Lizana; great-grandchildren, Brennan Ladner, Laithen Ladner, Adalyn Ladner, Austin Clinton, Cohen Clinton, Mason Clinton, Jasper Lizana, and Alora Lizana along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Elaine was a native of Fenton and graduated from Kiln High School. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic church where she sang in the choir for forty years. She was an ideal homemaker who worked hard to provide a comfortable and warm home for her family. She enjoyed anything that included gathering and spending time with her family. She was a devoted, loving, and supportive mother and grandmother. She also had a deep connection and love for her her favorite 11 siblings.
In her later years, she worked at Hancock High School and loved serving students and working with her colleagues.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the staff of Vital Caring who cared for Elaine in her final days, and the nurses and aides who were so caring and compassionate during her journey with dementia.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elaine's honor to The Alzheimer's Foundation or St. Matthew's Parish.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 6, 2024, beginning at 9:00 AM with Rosary at 10:30 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 AM at St. Matthew's Catholic Parish White Cypress. Interment will be at Necaise Crossing Cemetery.
