Elaine Gollotte Brunies, age 82, of Biloxi, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, in Gulfport.
Elaine, known as """"Lane"""" to the family, was born September 24, 1926, in Biloxi and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Elaine was of the Catholic faith and a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She served as Branch Supervisor, U.S. Department of Agriculture, New Orleans Regional Office.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elton and Hazel Gollotte and a brother, Wilfred """"Chookie"""" Gollotte.
Survivors include her husband, Merritt A. Brunies; her sons, Don Brunies and his wife, Carol, of Covington, LA, Dane Brunies and his wife, Lisa, of Daphne, AL, Dean Brunies of Foristel, MO; her daughters, Cynthia Rogers and her husband, Richard, of Gulfport, Regina Dottolo and her husband, Ronald, of Metairie, LA, Madonna Deist and her husband, Ricky, of Kenner, LA; her sister, Beverly Williams, and her husband, Daniel, of Biloxi; her sister-in-law, Gwen Gollotte, of Biloxi; fourteen grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A gentle and thoughtful woman who valued family, friends, and honor above all else, Elaine will be missed by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 22, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Nativity of B.V.M. Cathedral, Biloxi, where family and friends may visit from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Biloxi National Cemetery.
