Effie Mitchell

Effie Jane Mitchell, a resident of Saucier, MS, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022, she was 80 years old.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lamar and Eula Smith; daughter, Gay Lynn Watters; brothers, Hascle Smith, Ralph Smith, Bob Smith, and Edward Smith; sisters, Dorothy Smith and Edna Smith.

Effie is survived by her husband, John Mitchell; daughters, Lori Goekler, Pamela Shaw, and Mary Mitchell; sister, Annie Mae Shaw; grandchildren, Andrea Watters, Robert Watters, Shannon McKlveen, Jennifer Miller, Kimberly Rhodes, Kathleen Herring, Joseph O’Neal and Lane Mauffray; and 18 great grandchildren.

Effie was a longtime member of Morris Hill Baptist Church in Success, MS.

A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 12,2022 at 11:00 am at Walden Cemetery, 16520 Switzer Park Road, Biloxi, MS 39532.
