Effie Peterson Fayard, age 81, of Gulfport, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Fayard was a native and lifelong resident of the coast. She loved her family and loved to travel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Dottrey Fayard, a son, Gary Fayard, her parents, Arthur and Audrey Peterson, 2 brothers, Cedric Peterson, and Arthur Peterson, Jr., and a sister, Margaret Uphoff.
Survivors include her 2 children, Russell (Marilyn) Fayard, Gulfport, Dr. June Jacoby, Bedford, TX, 1 brother, Richard B. (Carol L. Gormley)Peterson, Diamondhead, a sister-in-law, Beverly Peterson, Richland, WA, 6 grandchildren, Barry Tisdale, Grapevine, TX, Trisha White, Statesville, NC, Cheryl Baker, TX, Susan Reid, Lexington, NC, Farrah Larmore and Brent Fayard, both of Gulfport, and 7 great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be Saturday, June 6 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.
