Edwin M. Smith

Mr. Edwin M. Smith, age 83, of Gulfport passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin C. Smith and Nona Shuttleworth Smith, sisters Janice Perkins Knowles and Mildred J. Giuffria. He is survived by his sister Beth Peterman and brother Gordin Smith (wife Elaine).
He is survived by the mother of his children, Mary Smith Graves, son Brent Smith (wife Nely and grand daughter Serrenna), son Matt Smith, daughter Bridget Smith Ferrucci (husband John and grand daughter Amberely), daughter Symba Smith, daughter Sherry Smith Rumsey (husband Jason and grand children: Eden, Gabriel and Noelle). He is also survived by the mother of his child, Joy Smith, and daughter Kate Smith (grand daughter, Alyssa).
Mr. Smith was an army veteran of the Korean War and a past member of New Hope Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 6 pm Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Hwy. 49 North, Gulfport with visitation starting at 4:00 p.m. There will be a graveside military service for the family at Evergreen Cemetery on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. An online guest book can be viewed and signed via riemannfamily.com.
