Edward Allan Screws

   Edward Allan Screws, age 47, and a resident of Gautier, MS, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at his residence.

   Allan was a native of Mobile, Alabama and was a long-time resident of Gautier. He was a 1994 graduate of Biloxi High School and was a chef.

   Allan was an avid chef and a former employee of the Country Gentleman Restaurant in Gautier. He enjoyed cooking for a variety of organizations.  Learning from his mother and his grandpa he prepared and served food all along the coast. He especially enjoyed preparing gumbo, boiled crawfish and shrimp.

   A passionate football and baseball fan, he was a lifelong supporter of the Auburn Tigers and the Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed rooting for Mississippi State and the Miami Dolphins.  He was a championship bowler and a member of the Biloxi High School golf team and enjoyed playing darts. Allan was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church.

Allan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Al & Josephine Janik and Voncille Searcy; and by various great aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Kim Ras; his children, Nicholas X. Screws of west Branch, MI, and Daniel A. Screws of Gautier, MS; his father, Louis M. Screws of Vancleave, MS; his mother, Ms. Cynthia Janik of Mobile, AL; his brother, Louis M. Screws II of Mobile; his sister-in-law, Tracy Mitchell Screws of Mobile; his former spouse, Sarah Clark of Tucson, AZ;  and Godparents, Mark Janik and Pearlann Hudson-Myer; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Friends are invited to join the family for a Time of Gathering from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 9, 2023, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., Biloxi (West Jackson County). Per Edward Allan’s wishes, he will be cremated, and his ashes provide to the family.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, a donation in Edward Allan’s name be made to the Jackson County SPCA.
