Mr. Edward D. Kersh, III, age 57, of Biloxi, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011.
Mr. Kersh was born in Biloxi and served in the U.S. Navy as a boiler operator. After military service, he worked for the Civil Service for a short time before supervising the maintenance department for a condominium complex in Florida. After Katrina, he moved back home to Biloxi and was currently working at Island View Casino as a HVAC technician and supervisor. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and spending time at the barrier islands. He was a big fan of auto racing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Rice Whitten and his sister, Debra Marie Kersh Rogers.
He is survived by his father and mother, Edward D. Kersh, Jr. and Virginia Anne Kersh of Biloxi; sisters, Marcia Jean Kersh and Regina Denise Kersh, both of Sacramento, CA; brothers, Billy Ray Kersh and Kenneth Ray Carroll, both of Biloxi; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, from 9-10 a.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Biloxi National Cemetery with honors provided by the U.S. Navy.
