Edward Burbank

October 4, 1951 — June 16, 2018

Edward Clay Burbank, Clay, 67, died June 16, 2018 in Gulfport, Mississippi after a short illness.
Clay was born October 4, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Marie Schulze Burbank and Edward L. Burbank. He graduated from Princeton High School in Cincinnati and afterward moved to New Orleans for several years. He then moved to south Texas and began working in the real estate business for about 15 years and subsequently went on to work in supervision and management with MCI/WorldCom for 18 years. His work took him around the country where he met and became life-long friends with many of the people that he worked with during this time.
Clay moved to Gulfport, Mississippi to help support his mother, but his first love was always for New Orleans. It was New Orleans where he traveled whenever possible, always to get an oyster po'boy. He loved the Saints football team and could be found watching them on any given Sunday with a beer in hand cheering them on.
Clay loved dogs and had the ability to connect with just about any canine. He loved and cared for Ditto for years, but his true love was Spud, who he cherished and spoke about with continued fondness over many years.
He was an avid history buff, with a profound interest in WWII. He read books and watched documentaries about this period of time and would often visit various WWI museums. He was a great supporter of the military and law enforcement.
His friends paid this tribute to him, ‘Clay was a great and faithful friend and he will be sorely missed.'
