Mrs. Edna Byrd, 76, a Mississippi native, was born in Sontag, MS.
A member of Grace Baptist Church, Saucier, MS, went to Heaven to be with Jesus on September 7, 2010.
She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. We will miss her beautiful singing, our lose in Heaven's gain. Without her wonderful cooking, our table will never be the same. She possessed a heart of gold that is forever forged in our memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Monroe Jelks and Brittie Estelle Bruce; her loving brother and sister, Charles Bejamin Jelks and Minny Lavell Williamson; her loving husband, Edward W. Byrd; her only son, Charles Preston Hudson, Sr., her grandsons and granddaughter, Charles Hudson, Jr., William David Hudson, Sabrina Renee Mickel.
Survivors include her 4 daughters: Bobbie (Milton) Bruce, Saucier, MS, Pamela (Cahrlie) Sutton, Lenoir, TN, Katie Wheat, McComb, and Mary Roussell, her brother, Hezzie Phillip Jelks; grandchildren: Charles P. Hudson, Jr., Michael (Amanda) Snook, Brandi Graham, Cody Graham, Phillip Mickel, Bryan Mickel, Christopher James, and Preston Sutton; great-grandchildren: Tori Snook, Catlyn Snook, Kaleigh Davis, Brennon Snook, Preston Hudson, and Michael Johnson, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, September 10, 2010 from 6 - 8 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road. The funeral servcice wil be at 10 am Saturday at Grace Baptist Church, Hwy 53, Saucier where friends may visit from 9 -10 am.
A graveside service will be at 2:30 pm at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 1284 Hwy 43, Columbia, MS.
