Edna Lavonne William Hart Brune, age 88, of Long Beach, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.
She was born in Georgia on February 27, 1930. Edna was a devoted daughter to her father, who was a descendent of the Cherokee Nation and her mother, a devoted Christian. Her love affair with her first husband, Gene Hart began when he was pursuing his career with Dupont in Richmond, VA, and Wilmington, DE. They married and traveled the world together, raising four children until his sudden death in 1976 at the age of 47. In 1978, she met and married Herman "Chuck" Brune, a recent widower. She and Chuck went on to have many years together, and we are forever grateful that they found each other.
Edna was a woman before her time: a woman who in the 60's and 70's owned and ran several businesses outside her home, all while raising four children. She was the owner/operator of several beauty salons and a travel agency. She wore big hair and high heels with her smart business suits and was as tough as any man in business. She was tough, but fair; she was fierce, but fun; she was brave yet vulnerable. Nothing meant more to her than her family. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ruth Williams; her first husband, Harold Gene Hart; and her brother, Tommy Williams.
Edna is survived by her husband of 40 years, Herman Charles Brune; her children, Randy (Martha) Hart, Long Beach, MS, Hal Hart, Long Beach, MS, Tami (Bill) LaVance, Southerland, VA, and Tabitha (David) Brooks, Cranberry Township, PA.; stepchildren, Richie (Cindy) Brune, Woodland, WA, Phillip Brune, McLean, VA, Mary (Michael) Brune, Raleigh, NC; 17 grandchildren; 15 Great grandchildren; her brothers, Bill (Alice) Williams, Paul (Marilyn) Williams, and Johnny (Nit) Williams; and her sister, Sarah Hahn.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the Billy Graham Association,
