Edith Virginia Kuykendall "Ginny" Fletcher, age 76, passed away peacefully in her home in Biloxi, on Monday, September, 21, 2020.
Ginny was born in Clay County on February 6, 1944, and was the youngest child of Theron Hart Kuykendall and Martha Amelia Lyon Kuykendall. She came to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1961 to live with her sister and brother in law, Mary and John Holmes. She graduated from Long Beach High School in 1963. Ginny married Pete Fletcher in 1964, and they had one child, Kandy Fletcher Cohen, born in 1965.
She worked in the automobile industry for most of her life. Over the years, she worked for Bill Byrd Chrysler, Bill Byrd Honda, and Pat Peck Honda, where she retired in 2016.
Ginny enjoyed hanging out with friends and loved her family, along with her little dog, Cooper. She loved to visit her family in North Mississippi, and even more, loved visiting her daughter and granddaughters in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings. As she was the last to enter this world, she is now the last to leave. Her siblings were William Lyon Kuykendall, Helen Marie McKee, Barbara Ann Fondren, Mary Hart Holmes, Mildred Lynn Jackson, and Ruth Evelyn Simmons.
Ginny is survived by her daughter, Kandy Fletcher Cohen; and her granddaughters, Alexis Cohen, Olivia Cohen, and Phoebe Cohen, all of Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
She will be missed by all.
Private family services will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020, at Redeemer Baptist Church. This is due to COVID-10 restrictions.
