Edith Varney

Edith Pack Varney, age 90, of Long Beach, passed away on October 6, 2022.

Edith was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Varney; son, Ken Varney; her parents, Sherman and Minnie Pack; her brothers, Joe Pack, Leonard Pack, Howard (Poochie) Pack; her sisters, Marie Byrd and Lizzie Pack.

Edith is survived by her loving children, Rhonda (Dale) Pollard, FL, Freda (Bill) Blaine, Long Beach, MS, Susie (Kevin) Meier, Gulfport, MS; her siblings, Johnny Pack, OH, Bessie (Henry) Hesson, IN, Whiz (Lois) Pack, IN, Ralph (Audrey) Pack, TN; her grandchildren, Kenneth (Dawn) Varney, Sarah Varney, David (Mary) Gordon, Lee Gordon, Beverly Phillips, Danny Pollard, Jeremy Pollard, Billy (Amy) Blaine, Jill (Wesley) Logothetis, Diane (Scott) Kennedy, Sherri (Daniel) Allen, Eddie (Becky) Delaney; she had twenty one great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Edith was a native of West Virginia and long-time resident of Long Beach, Mississippi. She was a proud Navy wife and retired from food service.

Some of her favorite hobbies were bowling, relaxing on the beach, sewing, crocheting, cooking, traveling, and attending all the parades and festivals. She was part of the CPO Wives Club and the bowling league.  Edith’s favorite thing to do was spending time with her family.

The family would like to give a special Thank you to Harleigh, Kendra, and the whole staff of Enhabit Hospice Team.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 14, 2022, from 1 - 3 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach.  The funeral service will be at 3 pm in the funeral home chapel.  Interment will be in Evergreen Gardens Cemetery.
