Edith Mae Allen Reed, age 90 and resident of Long Beach died on Saturday.
Mrs. Reed was born August 24, 1917 in Long Beach and was a life long resident of the Long Beach Community. She was a life long and the oldest member of the Antioch Baptist church where she taught Sunday School for decades. She was an accomplished seamstress and artist. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and a caregiver for anyone who needed her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Charles B. Reed, a son Kenneth Reed and by twelve brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her three children, Lou Alice DuPuis (Alan) of Long Beach, Evalynd Kenyon (Jack) of Ballston Spa, NY, and Gregory A. Reed of Long Beach; six grandchildren, Lance DuPuis, Krista DuPuis, Anna Scarbrough, Josh Kenyon, Zach Kenyon, and Melody Stasik; and by five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30, 2008 from 6pm until 8:30pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd., Long Beach, MS. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 from the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Allen Cemetery in Long Beach.
