Edith O. Maxwell, age 97 and a resident of Biloxi, died Sunday, January 10, 2010 in Biloxi.
Mrs. Maxwell, a native of Columbus, Ohio, married her husband, Lt. Col. John E. Maxwell, in 1938 and traveled the world with him in support of his military career with U. S. Army. While living in San Antonio, TX she worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Immigration and Naturalization Service. She was an accomplished organist, a full-time Mom, and was active in the Officer's Wives Club and other Post activities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. John E. Maxwell, who died in 1998; and her sister, Betty Rouse.
Mrs. Maxwell is survived by her son, John G. Maxwell, and his wife, Susan, of Biloxi; her niece, Florence Chester of Dallas, TX; and a close, very dear friend, Hazel Albright, of San Antonio, TX.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, where friends may visit from 12 noon until service time. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
